of meetups & making sushi!

Yes, it's time for an update! Been so lazy to update lately because whatever I wanted to blog about requires me to upload photos.

Anyway, first off: if you like shopping and flea markets, drop by the REVENGE OF THE TITANS FLEA tmr (27 June 2009) & on sun! Zigzagzey aka rn and me (may is in US) will be there so drop by & visit us! I'm pretty excited about the flea actually, I can't wait to explore it & look at what the other stalls are offering! I hope they sell some pretty shoes then XD

Now for the updates! Met up with sharon, rn & ferlin on 17 June to celebrate sharon's bdae belatedly. Only 4 out of 7 of us as the rest were all overseas. It was still a fun catching up celebration nevertheless. Had Thai Express for dinner which I have been craving, getting bored with Phat Thai though. Shall find some new dishes to enjoy next time! Had deserts at Cafe Cartel. Rn that auntie was so excited when she learnt that along with the cakes, the snackers were 50% off after 9 too. HAHAH.

BUT their supreme platter were like halved too. It didn't look that small last time I ate it, before 9pm when I paid full price. Oh well.




On fri, it was Timbre! Sadly, I didn't get to sit there & enjoy listening to the music for long :( but still had a great time with the TP mates chatting & taking photos! None of the photos are with me so I shall wait for Abby & Tracy to send me! I know it was harder to for us to really chat because of the long table and live band so let's have a picnic next time! :)

& finally, i met up with Rou this tues! Was initally supposed to bake cookies but changed it last minute to making sushi. It was both our first time making sushi! Had super much fun trying to make the sushi when we practically know next to nothing about it. We didn't even refer to guide or cookbook or anything. & surprisingly our sushi turned out okay! Not super delicious, & it wasn't the traditional sushi or anything but to us, it tasted nice :)

We wanted to make sushi but in the end, it turned out to be sushi rolls instead cos we couldn't cut the sushi nicely. The fillings will always end up dropping out or the sushi will be squashed into weird shapes in the process of cutting. Still.. we feel quite a sense of achievement! LOL.

Made some for px & amira too, but by the time we got round to giving them, the sushi was spoiled so too bad, no sushi for you two! But nvm, we'll be having dinner together next fri. Yay, finally a real meet up.

&.. omg, my student at Kumon asked me ystd if I have a husband. I think i look thrown by the question and the other students started giggling immediately. How old do i look to them exactly? oh man.
