addictive
I throw all of your stuff away. I’m gonna clear you out of my head. I tear you out of my heart.
And ignore all your messages. I tell everyone we are through. 'Cause I'm so much better without you.
But it’s just another pretty lie. 'Cause I break down.
Every time you come around. So how did you get here under my skin? I swore that I'd never let you back in.
Should have known better in trying to let you go. 'Cause here we go go go again.
Hard as I try I know I can't quit. Something about you is so addictive.
We're falling together. you'd think that by now I'd know. cause here we go go go again.

back from hk!

there's something about travel & vacation that makes you not want them to end. Or to go back to your homeland, no matter how much you love it.

unfortunately it has to end, which is why i'm back in s'pore, typing this entry on my laptop. i miss hk alr!

the hk trip was really fun, i'm really glad i went despite the inital worries about my funds dipping low. maybe because we encountered so much problems planning this hk grad trip, we appreciate the trip more. seriously, from deciding whether to go on a grad trip anot to choosing a location and settling the dates, to the swine flu situation & the decision of whether or not we shld postpone the trip, they were really much cause for headache.

but in the end, we went, we came back & we enjoyed it. i love the company i had on the trip: effie aka my roomie & shopping partner (who has to buy a present for everyone from her mom to her sister's dog), aldrin the walking hk directory & translator, abby the game for anything person, tracy the shopping queen & lihyee the ultimate snoopy fan who holds the title for the most easily amused person i have ever known.

hk was a flurry of activities, we woke up early at like 8+ every morning & only slept near 2am every night. there was jus so much things to do. with the exception of the 2nd day where we went ocean park & the peak, the rest of the days were spent shopping.

Argyle Centre was a great shopping place! i love the bags in hk. i bought 2 & wanted to buy so much more. Argyle Centre was also the place where i bought a pair of shoes, went back to the hotel to realise that i somehow dropped one of the shoes somewhere, leaving me with only 1 shoe. what can you do with 1 shoe pls!

i was so agitated, i went back to Argyle Centre the next day to buy another pair of shoes. who knows, on the last day when we checked out the hotel, the hotel staff, after cleaning my room, found the missing shoe! don't ask me where & how she found the shoe, i don't know. arghhhh. now i have 2 pair of the shoes in the exact same design, exact same colour & exact same size.

i wonder why all these funny funny things kept happening to me? everybody on the trip kept laughing at me when i first told them i lost 1 shoe. thanks huh!

i like ladies street too although you have to really bargain there. ever since it became a tourist attraction, the prices they quote are ridiculous. i bought a HUGE Elmo there for 90hkd only! all thanks to aldrin who spotted it & effie + abby who helped me bargain for it :)

H&M was pretty good too.

i love the peak! the view was spectacular. i could have stayed up there for hrs jus gazing at the pretty night scene. too bad my camera ran out of battery :(

Ocean Park was fun too, the mascots were really friendly & funny, the rides were pretty exciting too. i didn't take most of the scary rides cos i didn't have the guts & i have a feeling my poor heart wouldn't take it very well. the first ride i took (Mine Train), i was already nervous like don't know what. when i got into the carriage, i was wondering what happened to my common sense. i didn't realise there were quite so many plunges & i screamed so much until towards the end, my scream got stuck in my throat.

Pirate Ship looked small & so harmless we happily went to sit at the back, but i swear it swings super high. i felt like i was parallel to the ground at the highest point. It was the most thrilling Pirate Ship ride i have ever taken. Too bad Raging River was closed for maintainence, i was looking forward to taking that! :(

food wise, i got to eat pretty much most of the things i wanted to eat like curry fishball, egg tart, bo luo bao, roasted pigeon & ji dan zai. ate dim sum at the popular Maxim Palace & mango pudding at the famous Xu Liu Shan. bought lao po bing back home for my family too!

the hotel we stayed at was not bad. central location, free internet usage, small but cosy with tasteful decor. the only thing i didn't like that much was the semi-transparent toilet. it made bathing a lil awkward. the aircon in hk is like free, the first night we slept in the hotel, effie & i woke up in the middle of the night freezing & we used up a whole box of tissues from our sneezing.

don't worry, i don't think we have swine flu though. still, you can't be too careful! will monitor my health for 7 days just in case :)

btw, did i mentioned we nearly missed the flight back? after dinner at the airport, we were trying to get rid of our coins so we gave them all as payment for the meal. we took super long to count everything & the staff took even longer to count it. when we left, we didn't even realised we were late & we still walked leisurely & slowly. when we reached the check in counter where we had to take a bus to our airplane, I still wanted to go to the toilet. thanks to the jetstar guy who came out to the walkway shouting that it was the very very last call for the flight we were taking back, we didn't miss the flight. had another scare on the bus to the airplane when i thought my phone was missing & left in the restaurant we had dinner. luckily i found it in the messy depths of my bag. phew!

our hk trip is nothing short of eventful & exciting :)
