i was looking through my blog posts in China, and I realise what the teachers say are right. 3 weeks isn't enough. From the first week, when we still feel strange to the environment, sort of miss home, and still trying to adapt to the surroundings, to the second week where we are alr slowly easing into the schedule and the life there, making friends with more of the students and developing relationship that goes beyond just 'hi' & 'bye', and the last week, where we already know each other, are frantically trying to exchange QQ numbers, taking photos, leaving memories of each other, trying to cram going to all the self study time my classes have and more wonderful things.
the last week was definitely one of the best, yet saddest week spent there.
when i first returned home, i was really happy. then i started thinking, at this time in Shijiazhuang, I would be going to this class, at this time, the students would be at lunch & etc. & when i went shopping in Singapore for the first time after i return, i wasn't used to the prices yet and at first, i was like only 5obucks? cheap! then i realise, the currency is no longer in RMB but Sing dollars. & i'm struck by how expensive some of the things are here. but i guess you can't compare such stuffs. There's always a price to be paid for developing the country.
& the teenagers there, they really have less freedom. And, even the path they go through, is decided by their parents and most of them usually have no say over it.
Anyway, i like China, especially the people there in Shijiazhuang. But if you ask me to go back there & live there for the rest of my remaining life, i don't think i would agree. Unless i can export my family and my friends over there. Even then, i still have this tie to S'pore. XD I don't mind living in China for a few years but definitely not for the rest of my life.
Then again, maybe i can live in Singapore until i finish my education, work in China for a few years, return to S'pore and work for the remaining years, and then when i retire.. I'll go to Hawaii! HAHA.
