i'll be super glad when this term is over. i think everybody will be. the last few weeks, were the most tiring weeks i went thru this sem. everyday, after lessons, we have to rush projs, filming, editing, assignments, then you have to settle the dates & times for meetings & everything btw diff grps of ppl who have diff schedules.
& this time, the projs were even worse cos its not like you can do it at home. for filming, we have to see whether our talents could make it, then during editing & also for audio production, we have to go to mediabiz studio. so basically, you have to cram everything you can do in sch, in, then after returning home, do the things you can at home.
i totally hate our last single cam proj. we shoot for like 3 times. The first time, we were considered quite early. but the talents couldn't really rmb their lines and okays, we called it a day. the second time, which was a week after, we changed location & it was the start of our downfall. there was so many problems with the second location. water droplets falling down, noisy background sound, lousy lightning, got a scare with the monitor, boom mic refuses to bend. everything & anything that could go wrong, went wrong.
when we thought we were done with the shoots, we started editing & we realised we have to do a reshoot again. & we decided, in order to do it better, to reshoot the whole entire thing.
okays, so that day, we started early. & it rained which was prob like a bad omen. & when we were setting up our equipment, guess what? we realised that there were no monitor cable in the bag! argh. so we had to shoot w/o it, which was a huge blow cos we wasn't sure whether the images would turn out to be sharp, & the lightning would be okay. so we finished that day.
the next day, we reached the editing suite to do the editing &... some of the scenes ystd weren't there! we were like WHAT?! my heart totally went to my feet. that was how down i was feeling. HAHA! now i can laugh about it, but at that time, you can't imagine the desperation. the proj was due next week. we could reshoot AGAIN but the talents couldn't make it, & we were going crazy trying to find new talents. besides, even if we reshoot, it would be a mad rush to finish editing & everything by next wed & i still have my others projs. the mood was sombre and full of tension when..
when.. (insert drum rolls pls) ms chee came & rescue the day! she helped us found our missing footage. it turns out, the timecode was totally screwed, & the footage we filmed was way in front on the tape. woohoo! cue total excitment & screaming & hugging. that was how dramatic the day was.
now, i think we'll have a good chance of finishing by next wed. i'm more worried about my audiopro proj actually.
you can see why i'm totally looking forward & counting down to holidays. okays, i have to go back to my basic sub editing assignment. =(
